I had just (finally!) got around to installing broadband, and I started to get nervous about the prospect of my computer being constantly connected to the internet.

So I was looking round for a cheap option that would just "do the job". I have some computer experience, but I didn`t really want to spend hours configuring anything; just wanted to install it and go!

I tried Kerio / Sunbelt on a free trial and really couldn`t get to grips with it. It seemed to make the PC run really slow and the warnings it gave didn`t make much sense to me!

So, before buying the full version of Kerio, I uninstalled it and tried Comodo.

Fantastic! The interface is lovely and clear, it gives you clear details about why it`s given you a warning and it just works.

Reviews I`ve read say that its protection level is really high; I have to say that I am pleased about that (obviously!), but even happier that it works and it`s FREE!

Yes; you do get loads of warnings at the start as it questions any application that tries to do almost anything, but it only takes a second to check which program it`s worried about and to click "Allow"; then it remembers and doesn`t ask you again.

As far as I am concerned, I don`t need any other firewall. Comodo looks great, has been tested (much harder than just by me!) to do a great job and it looks very professional.
